Finding Myself Teetering
I find myself teetering these days. Teetering between fear and hope.
I fear one of my loved ones getting covid-19 and having a bad experience. I fear one of us having to be hospitalized without the comfort of having visitors. The images of being in the hospital with the coronavirus are haunting, desolate and sad. The isolation gives me a pit in my stomach.
I am also living (thanks be to God) with a strong sense of hope. I am hopeful that we will stay healthy and that if we do contract the virus we will have an easier go of it than some. I am hopeful that someone is going to fix our broken world and that a leader will arrive to make sense of all of this nonsense.
Without fear I would not need hope. And without hope I would live in fear.
I am so thankful to have a God that quells my fears (when I ask Him to) and that He gives me hope (when I remember that it is available to me 24/7).
Faith is a very good thing.
Silver lining for the day: I am taking E for a 7:30 AM Starbucks run. It is the simple things that are making her summer feel fun. The things we can do are few and far between but I love the simplicity of it all. Simple pleasures!
