Pushing Out Of My Comfort Zone

Last night I pushed myself out of my comfort zone...and it was a good thing.

As a person who is strongly a believer and a needer in/of routine, I have very quickly worked myself into my new, social distancing, daily schedule.

I know that the Lord makes my ultimate plans and that His plans and mine don't always align. However, I also believe that He likes for me to show up to the day prepared and with some direction for myself and my family. A road map for my day leads to less confusion and keeps me from getting lost and from going down too many rabbit holes.

I digress.

Last night, despite wanting to just fall into my new routine of evening news and TV viewing with my family, I attended a Happy Hour Zoom with my dance mom friends!

I showed up with my cup of tea and we had the best time! I had told Jeff that I was going to check in for 15 minutes or so but those 15 minutes quickly turned into an hour!

It was a sweet connection. We laughed, we shared and we gently vented.

I was the first to say good night and click off the Zoom meeting as my dessert was calling to me, but that hour with the dance mamas was a sweet moment in my day and I am so glad that I pushed through my original urge to skip it.

Silver lining for the day: Having my daughter help with dishes in the evening has been a treat! Normally she is already at the dance studio at dinner time or we are rushing to get her there after we eat. She is quickly learning where every thing goes the kitchen!
