One Foot In Front Of The Other
I woke up sad and a bit scared this morning.
I can talk a big game about staying on regular routines, walking, limiting the news and treating myself to desserts, but the concern surrounding the covid-19 situation is real and can be discouraging.
I have thus far continued to move about my morning in my "new normal" way and that has helped my mood.
I made a quick trip to Target to get a birthday gift for a friend that didn't arrive in time from Amazon. I found myself feeling frustrated with Amazon Prime! I have become so accustomed to next day delivery that this delay felt annoying!
I know the birthday gift is not a necessity but it is for one of my daughter's friends. We will leave the gift on the friend's porch. Birthdays are still happening despite the pandemic and in my opinion still need to be celebrated - especially for the children!
I arrived at Target fifteen minutes prior to the store opening in an effort to come into contact with as few people as possible. There was a line to get into the store. People were standing six feet apart.
In addition to the birthday gift, I was able to get some toilet paper and some disinfectant wipes. We were allowed one per person of each and multiple employees were monitoring us. So weird.
I came home and had a "televisit" appointment with a nurse practitioner from my doctor's office. I was due for an in-office appointment to discuss lab work and prescription refills but since they aren't seeing healthy patients right now, I had a "televisit".
I am going to take a LIVE barre class now and then go for a walk. I've got to work for that dessert tonight after all!
One foot in front of the other - just keep doing the next best thing!
Silver lining for the day: All these middle of the day walks are giving me a head start to a healthy summer glow!
