Happy First Day of Spring

Happy First Day of Spring!

I ventured out to the stores this morning to restock some necessities.

I arrived at 8:00 AM just as the store was opening. There was a line to get in and a store employee was monitoring the pace that we were being allowed to enter the store. After I was in, there were two ladies waiting to spray down my shopping cart. I was asked if I would like to have my hands sprayed and I gladly accepted! Free hand sanitizer! I'll take it!

The shopping culture in the store felt just a tad bit more tense then earlier in the week as people tried really hard in the narrow aisles to keep their distance. Six feet apart is impossible in a busy grocery store.

As I tried to quickly make my way through the store I found that as I was trying to concentrate on my grocery list, I was having a hard time focusing because I was preoccupied with germs, keeping distance and wondering who I might be passing that might be infected with covid-19.

It was a strange shopping trip to say the least. There was still no toilet paper but a friend of mine found some at Walmart and picked me up a 12 pack!

I came home from the store and took a LIVE barre class with my studio. I am so thankful for technology! The way the schools and businesses have been able to make themselves and their services available is truly remarkable!

I haven't watched an inkling of news today. I am trying to really limit myself to how much I take in daily. I want to be informed but not obsessed. Get what I need and get out!

The covid-19 pandemic has certainly rocked the world - life is suddenly so different.

So suddenly!

So different!

However, there are silver linings in all this crazy! I hear people over and over referring to the silver linings!

For example, my daughter and I went to a park today and she took pictures of me for my new blog! We would never have done that in the middle of the day, on a Friday, prior to "social distancing". We actually belly laughed over some of the pictures and the silliness of what we were doing!

I hope and pray that we don't have to live here too long. It's scary, unnerving and not normal. However, we are going to make it through this mess and eventually we will be back to what we are accustomed!

As we make our way back to what is customary, we must remember to celebrate the small things along the way. Things like Fridays, store employees that will spray your hands with sanitizer, friends that find toilet paper at Walmart for you and the First Day of Spring!
